Do not attempt to know The world in full detail. For that shall leave you lost In its wide, gaping maw. For all does pass and flow Through time's so violent throe. To seek the whole grand show, Will bury you below. For every spark hides grail, and every texture, braile. You cannot beat this gale, So fly and take to sail. For though it leaves you tossed, and you will bear its cost, You will be then embossed As one who has then crossed. Shall you wait for last straw, Or leave while you have claw? For time will always gnaw, So act while you unthaw. Go forth and tail the crow, To stay will make you fail. Far better to exhaust Your strength than to withdraw.
